There are over 800 ReStores in the U.S and Canada. Habitat for Humanity Fresno County operates one of several ReStores proudly serving Central California. ReStore’s retail operation provides a valuable source of funding for Habitat for Humanity’s home building program through the sale of donated building materials.

Our Goals

  • Help fund Habitat’s home building program. We are anticipating the construction of three additional homes each year with the proceeds from ReStore.
  • Divert reusable building materials from local landfills. ReStore will keep several tons of building materials out of Fresno County’s landfills on an annual basis.
  • Provide the community with a source of low cost building materials.
  • Create jobs and volunteer opportunities.

How It Works

ReStore accepts donations of new, or gently used saleable building materials, as well as store items that are overstocked and discontinued, and materials left over after construction projects. Our inventory ranges from cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors, lumber, flooring, and windows – all sold at a discount of 25-75% off the retail price.

How You Can Help

ReStore is an ambitious project and we need the help of a lot of people in many different ways to make it successful. You can help by volunteering, donating gently used building materials, or simply by shopping at ReStore.

Donations to ReStore are tax deductible.

Environmental
Initiative

Habitat’s Environmental Initiative promotes cost-effective, best-practice construction methods to its U.S. affiliates, raising awareness of the environmental impacts of house building. As a result, partner families may enjoy healthier, more energy-efficient and durable housing at the lowest possible cost. Over time the initiative has been integrated into Habitat’s standard education and training activities, so that affiliates are encouraged to be good house builders and good stewards of natural resources.
